TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's premier technology showcase will welcome industry heavyweights as the 2025 COMPUTEX (台北國際電腦展) prepares to open its doors this May with artificial intelligence taking center stage. Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon will deliver a keynote address exploring how AI is fundamentally transforming device experiences and reshaping the technology ecosystem, according to an announcement made Monday (March 24) by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (外貿協會). The council's statement positions the upcoming exhibition as a pivotal gathering for industry leaders navigating the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Adding to the event's star power, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) is scheduled to present his own keynote address on the same day, focusing on cutting-edge developments in AI and accelerated computing technologies. This dual appearance by two of tech's most influential executives underscores Taiwan's significance in the global technology supply chain. In its announcement, the trade council highlighted Qualcomm's four-decade legacy of pioneering innovations across multiple industries, noting how the company's technologies have enabled greater interactivity and personalization in smartphones, personal computers, vehicles, and other connected devices through edge AI implementation.
As Qualcomm's chief executive, Amon has been instrumental in charting the company's strategic course, with particular emphasis on edge AI development, creating distinctive product roadmaps, and driving widespread 5G adoption. His tenure has witnessed Qualcomm's significant diversification beyond its traditional mobile chip business. The company has strategically expanded its technological footprint into multiple growth sectors including automotive systems, computing platforms, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), networking infrastructure, and various industrial applications—positioning Qualcomm at the intersection of multiple emerging technology trends.
The four-day COMPUTEX 2025 exhibition, operating under the forward-looking theme "AI Next," will run from May 20-23 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2. Organizers expect a massive industry turnout with nearly 1,400 exhibitors showcasing their latest innovations across approximately 4,800 booths.
