TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Wang Xiaofei (汪小菲), the former husband of deceased Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu (大S), reportedly made a disturbing phone call to Hsu's grieving mother on Feb. 3, just one day before her daughter's cremation. According to a report published by Next Apple News (壹蘋新聞網) on Friday (March 21), Hsu's mother personally confirmed the troubling incident. The 70-year-old woman was already overwhelmed with grief and funeral logistics in Japan when she received Wang's allegedly hostile call during this profoundly difficult time.
The reported verbal attack has sparked indignation among the Hsu family's inner circle, who remain bewildered by Wang's alleged behavior toward his former mother-in-law. Sources close to the family noted that despite previous disagreements between Hsu and her mother regarding Wang, the elderly woman had consistently shown him goodwill, maintaining cordial relations even following the couple's divorce. Hsu, who died on Feb. 2 in Tokyo, was cremated in Japan shortly after her passing. Her journey concluded on March 15, when family members interred her remains at the Chin Pao San Cemetery (金寶山).
Barbie Hsu's three-decade career established her as an icon in Taiwan's entertainment landscape, earning her a devoted following throughout the region. Her entertainment journey began in 1994 when she performed alongside her sister in the popular music duo S.O.S., capturing youthful audiences with their energetic performances. Hsu later achieved fame through her portrayal in the TV drama "Meteor Garden" (流星花園) in 2001, a role that transformed her into a household name and beloved figure across multiple Asian countries.
