NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — New Taipei's Sports Department (新北市政府體育局) announced on Monday (Feb. 17) it will host live broadcast parties for the World Baseball Classic (WBS) qualifiers from Friday to Sunday.
The event will take place at the New Taipei City Plaza (新北市民廣場), where the public is invited to attend and cheer for the Chinese Taipei team (中華隊). Attendees can expect an energetic atmosphere with sports commentator Hsu Chan-yuan (徐展元) at the helm, along with cheer squads: the Fubon Angels (富邦啦啦隊) and the Chinatrust Passion Sisters (中信兄弟啦啦隊).
Chinese Taipei will compete against Spain, South Africa, and Nicaragua in the qualifiers, aiming for a spot in the 2026 WBS. The event will feature food trucks offering freshly made delicacies. On Friday, organizers will distribute limited food vouchers, inflatable cheering sticks, WBC support blackboards, and raffle tickets to encourage vibrant participation.
The live broadcast party follows the 2024 WBSC Premier12, where thousands gathered at the same venue to celebrate Chinese Taipei's victory. This year, New Taipei's Sports Department once again invites the public to join the festivities, cheer for the Chinese Taipei team, and enjoy the electrifying atmosphere.
