TAIPEI (TVBS News) — A German architect named Jasmin expressed her newfound love for Taipei (台北) after her first visit in August 2024. She revealed her sentiments in a YouTube interview on the channel "Stopkiddinstudio" (不要鬧工作室) on Wednesday (Jan. 22). Jasmin, who has lived in Seoul (首爾) for two years, is now considering a long-term stay in the Taiwanese capital.
She explained her affection for Taipei, attributing it to the city's exceptional coffee culture. She also praised Taipei's baristas for their professionalism and skills, stating that each visit leaves her feeling impressed. In contrast, she finds German coffee overpriced and Seoul's lacking in richness. The German architect also highlighted Taiwan's digital nomad visa, which allows her to stay for six months with more relaxed application requirements compared to Seoul.
Jasmin noted that Taipei residents have commendable English skills, adding that the city's men are particularly brave and gentlemanly in speaking English, making it an ideal place for socializing and meeting potential partners. Jasmin, a self-proclaimed foodie, emphasized Taipei's affordable and healthy afternoon tea options as another appealing factor. These attributes have led her to contemplate relocating to Taipei for an extended period. Her story may inspire others to consider Taipei as a potential destination for both short and long-term stays.
