TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) will attend Wistron Corporation's (緯創) year-end celebration on Friday (Jan. 17), underscoring his commitment to Taiwan's supply chain, according to Wistron chairman. Wistron Chairman Simon Lin (林憲銘) confirmed Huang's presence, noting the significance of his attendance as a testament to Wistron's importance to Nvidia. Lin humorously remarked that most attendees are probably here for him, not us.
Huang selected Wistron's banquet as his first appearance at a supply chain event, reflecting the company's esteemed position. Wistron recently reported a net profit of NT$9.453 billion for the fourth quarter of 2024, marking a 125.12% quarterly increase and a 77.88% annual rise. The company's annual net profit reached NT$30.629 billion in the previous year, a 167.03% increase, with earnings per share soaring by NT$2.03 to NT$6.11.
Wistron has aggressively expanded into the AI server market, securing significant contracts with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. This strategic move has significantly boosted its overall growth. General Manager Lin Chien-hsun expressed optimism at a financial briefing, stating that Wistron's open approach to allowing clients to modify products positions the company for continued growth in 2025.
